SixStrings has no user accounts. We collect only what is needed to make the app work:
Voice search uses your device's built-in speech recognition (Apple Speech on iOS, Google speech services on Android). Voice data is processed by the platform provider according to its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store voice recordings.
All communication between the app and our server is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Server-side data is stored in the European Union. Favorites, recent songs, settings and looper projects never leave your device.
To delete everything the Sixstrings server holds for your device:
This immediately and permanently removes the playlists, event set lists and songs you created, and the device identifier itself; the app then generates a new identifier, so nothing can link you to the deleted data. Songs you submitted that were already accepted into the shared catalog remain as catalog content, without any link to your device. Favorites, recent songs, settings and looper recordings are stored only on your phone and are not affected — uninstalling the app removes them.
You can also delete any single playlist, event or song inside the app, or email [email protected] and we will delete your data for you. Server access logs, which contain no device identifier, are rotated automatically after 14 days.
The app connects to our own server to fetch chord and lyric data from public chord databases. We do not use advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and we do not sell or share data with third parties.
SixStrings does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
